Let me ask you something…
Where do you want to see yourself in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months?
How do you envision your ideal life?
Close your eyes and take a moment.
Picture your life exactly as you desire it.
Are you enjoying an afternoon with your family in a gorgeous, relaxing location?
Are you getting ready for a hot date or a fun girls night out?
Maybe you’re dancing away with your partner during a romantic vacation?
Or even finishing your first 10k!
Whatever your dream is, ask yourself why?
Why is this so important for you?
What will having that thing you are missing will do for you?
What will your life look like once you have it?
When you go through the process of uncovering your deepest motivations, digging deep until something truly touches you emotionally, you have found your Emotionally Charged Why (ECW).
Your Emotionally Charged Why (ECW) is the TRUE reason why you want to change.
Sounds simple, right?
Not so much…
Let’s say you want to lose weight. If I ask you right now WHY you want to lose weight, what would you say?
Probably something along the lines of:
I want to look better in my clothes
I want to feel sexy
I want to wear a bikini
I want to feel better about myself… right?
Now, if I ask you why you want to feel better about yourself, what would you say?
That’s your second layer, and it's usually related to confidence.
What if I ask you WHY you want to feel confident?
Then, you start crossing into territory that a lot of us have worked very hard to suppress.
But you must go there if you want to liberate yourself from the weight that’s been holding you back.
You must keep asking why until the answer touches you, causes you to wince inwardly, even makes you a bit uncomfortable.
You have to be willing to look at the spaces you have neglected within yourself if you want to liberate yourself.
Knowing how you actually want to feel is one of the biggest secrets to attaining a healthy weight long-term.
Once you reach the "why" that touches you emotionally, you can start working towards changing that deep perception of yourself.
Sit in a quiet and comfortable space and close your eyes.
Ask yourself what having your desired change will do for you,
and what will your life look like once you have it.
Repeat the question until you find your true ECW.
Cheers to great health!
